FHI Logo FHI Sustainable Oil & Gas Development Project: Parts I & II:

2007 - 2008

During the fall quarter of 2007, CGC developed a business case around the impact of oil and gas industry on public health in Nigeria. The project included economic research and analysis to help determine Family Health International's (FHI) proposal to oil and gas companies. CGC helped FHI make a case for why oil and gas companies should invest in public health. Among many items, the group detailed macro benefits, public relations, and reduction in labor costs due to improved health of employees and the surrounding community. The group also created a marketing strategy for FHI with the goal of helping the organization effectively approach oil and gas companies.

CGC's project (Part I) was extremely successful and FHI has since asked CGC to take on a subsequent initiative. Part II of this project is currently ongoing. Please check back at the conclusion of the spring academic quarter for further details.
